Freiburg, Germany (24st April 2017) – Pyramid Computer GmbH announced today the acquisition of the assets and business of Media 5 Solutions Ltd. The deal, which was completed earlier this week, will, for the first time, provide Pyramid with a UK base and a foundation to develop their kiosk business across the Retail and Hospitality sectors in UK and Ireland.
Pyramid Computer is a long established kiosk designer operating from its home base in Freiburg Germany. In addition they manufacture and assemble kiosks in Erfurt, Germany and have a joint venture operation with a touch-screen manufacturer in Taiwan. In the UK they are best known for providing their polytouch® units to Marks & Spencer and Sofology.
Media 5 Solutions Ltd is a MBO from Retec Digital and is led by its principal shareholders, Graeme Derby and Charles Mckay. They were previously the driving force behind the development of Retec Digital into one of the leading kiosk providers to the UK retail sectors. Retec was responsible for kiosk deployments into Tesco, Argos, Sainsburys and Fujifilm amongst others.
The objective behind the deal is to create a UK base for Pyramid and to acquire a ready made customer base.
